A Beautiful Cell and the Love of a Parent

A Beautiful Cell and the Love of a Parent

By Emmanuel Amuta, age 9

Oh sickle cell, sickle cell shaped like the moon, the moon that gives light to the world the cells that gives life to the human body. These cells that are shaped like the moon is the most beautiful cell I have ever seen but comes with pains that make your bones cry and affects your organs. My Mother sitting next to my bed rubbing the painful area, giving me my pain killers, encouraging me to drink lots of water, my dad looking at me with admiration of how well I’m handling the pain. For me Sickle cell is a gift, if you have it you don’t have to be ashamed and keep taking your medicines and try to live a healthy life style.
