On Wednesday, it was announced that the BBC Children In Need 2015 appeal had raised a record breaking £55 million!

Here at the Sickle Cell Society we received funding from the BBC Children In Need to run activities for children and young people who live with Sickle Cell Disorder.

This funding will be a big help in helping children and young people who live with sickle cell be involved in exciting and fun activities. This will also help them increase self- confidence, reduce social isolation, increase independence and improve skills. A key part of the programme is enabling children and young people with Sickle Cell Disorder to meet together and provide support to one another.

So a big thank you to the BBC Children In Need for helping us helps others.

If you would like to participate in these activities and you live with Sickle Cell Disorder please get in contact: lori.hey@sicklecellsociety.org
