Medical adviser to the Sickle Cell Society, Dr Norman Parker, peacefully passed away in April 2016. He was surrounded by his family. Dr Parker was well-known in the field of haematology, a consultant haematologist at the Whittington Hospital until he retired.
Dr Norman Parker was well-loved by patients and colleagues alike, who fondly remember his compassion, kindness and passion to make a difference. He was a longtime friend to the Sickle Cell Society, always fighting our corner and providing invaluable support and advice. He volunteered many hours of his time serving as a medical adviser to the Society, giving insights into new developments, reviewing our publications and offering up knowledge.
His caring nature and his wisdom will be greatly missed.
May his soul rest in peace.
